Reality Tapping at My Door

Vacation is over and work is back with a vengeance! Once again my job is interfering with my blogging — such a distraction! All because I have a few bills to pay I put myself through this misery. (Of course, if everyone in the United States sent me just one dollar, I could free myself from this bondage.) My wife and I had a wonderful trip last week. We ended our vacation back at Hippie Camp (or the World Fellowship Center) in New Hampshire. The place is just like home to us. To save a little money, the missus and I stayed in a tent this time. I ate my three square meals a day and did the requisite lounging around. On Saturday, we went for an all-morning bike ride with three other people through beautiful farmland, then made it back just in time for a big lunch. Afterward, I showered, grabbed my book and camped out in my usual corner in the Lloyd Lodge porch. I read for about two hours, felt drowsy, took a one and a half hour nap, woke up, made some tea, read some more and waited for the dinner bell to ring. This is how life should be, people! To hell with industry and ambition and all that other stuff my sixth grade teacher used to drone on and on about. We should all live like my cat. When you feel hungry, eat. When you have to go to the bathroom, go to the bathroom. When you feel tired, sleep. Repeat as needed. (I’ll loan my cat to anyone requiring a demonstration.)

I feel honored to be the first non-bot to comment on your blog. Welcome back to the real world. You really made me pine for a nap. Truly, it sounds like you had the perfect day. Nothing like having nothing better to do and drift off at your leisure. Ahhh.

I'm not a bot either, I promise. Count me in as envious of your leisurely vacation. That would have much preferable to my whirlwind, no sleep, late everywhere trip I just took.

Uh, Scott, Frank, Khairul and Mike are my THREE BEST FRIENDS! They just want me to be rich and successful and are willing to show me how!

But thanks, glad to be back in the real world.(Can't believe I said that — now I need a nap.)

Trina, I can't wait to catch up on everything that happened on your trip. Yours is the number one blog I read — somehow I've got to find the time to get caught up (damn work and parents meetings and everything else!). I've been to Vegas twice and really enjoyed myself both times (the last time was just before the Bellagio opened — or just after. I've stayed at the MGM Grand and the Venetian).

Wow! I stayed at Circus Circus in the cheap rooms (I use the term cheap loosely). I've had rooms at mom n pop hotels that were better! But those others were awesome to walk through.

I already have two cats that can demonstrate how life should be thanks.
This week: two and a half books. By the end of the week, I might break my own record. Fingers crossed!

I like your philosophy. I'm ready to run away and live a simple life in the country.

Trina, I think I remember Circus Circus. That's one of the older ones, isn't it? (Or more established, let's say. They're supposed to refurbish the casinos every five years or so, so people think they're coming back to something different.)

Nypinta, books and vacations just go together, don't they? I just finished The Tailor of Panama by John le Carré. Very witty, very cynical. Now I'm reading The Stand by the Man on Fire guy, A.J. Quinnell.

Chloe, you're on the right track! What's wrong with lounging around in the fresh air waiting for the dinner bell to ring? I've looked at it from every which way and can't find any flaws.

Another friend of yours, I presume?

Yeah, I think it's been awhile since Circus Circus got refurbished. That sucker is huge! It's pretty sad that I almost got lost in my own hotel.

"Another friend of yours, I presume?"

Who, Cred? Yeah, he and I are pretty tight.

Why am I getting spammed like this?!!?

LMBO at Mr. Schprock's bot remarks!

Oh, your vacation sounds heavenly. My cats sleep, sleep, sleep, eat, throw up, sleep, sleep, sleep. I don't know if I could deal with their cycles.
